Teaching

“The circle is now complete. When I left you, I was but the learner, now I am the master.” -Darth Vader

“Education must begin with the solution of the teacher-student contradiction, by reconciling the poles of the contradiction so that both are simultaneously teachers and students.” – Paulo Freire

In the endless transition from student to teacher, I have had the pleasure of teaching a variety of philosophical topics. It is my hope that in exposing students to the many diverse ways of thought which are now recorded as “philosophy”, their own journeys of self-reflection (as well as annoying critique, in the vein of Socrates) may get a solid foundation upon which they can autonomous learners.

I have a Certificate in College Teaching from the Teaching Center at Vanderbilt University, which I earned through workshops and classes on pedagogical techniques, evaluating learning outcomes, strategies for teaching amidst crisis, and more.
